Let's say you had a choice as to whether to encrypt the storage in your phone/mobile device (tablet, phablet, etc). Would you enable the encryption? Why or why not? What would you be protecting yourself from? Is there anything else you need to take into consideration to protect your information other than just turning encryption on your device? Yes i would certainly enabel the encryption on my mobile,tablet etc as we are so much dependent on tecgnology these days that we have stopped remembering important things like credit card numbers,atm pin numbers,our bank account details so we prefer to save these kinds of details on our smart phones as we always carry them along. We have started checking emails on our phones which results in saving many official and confedential files and documents in our smart phones. So since we have made smart phones such an important part of our day to day activities that it has become quite necessary to encrypt the data on our smart phones.
By encrypting the mobile data i would be protecting my phone from miscreants who may want to steal some confedential information form my phone like my bank details or some official documents.
Apart from turning on encryption on my mobile i will also install a good antivirus software as i keep checking emails on my phone which makes my phone susceptible to recieving virus via emails so installing an antivirus software will help a great deal in protecting my phone from online attacks.
