This money is being spent when we have veterans living on the streets homeless, millions of people without adequate health care, and so many other large scale societal issues. It seems like the money could be spent in better ways, in ways that help humans. I don't see the need to protect a tiny little kangaroo rat or a frog. Why should we be using our resources to help save these species? Construct a response to your friend that argues that protecting biodiversity indeed does benefit people. Provide at least 2 articles or videos for your friend to view that help support your argument. And make it personal, include at least 3 direct ways in which your friend benefits from the continued existence of a biodiverse planet. Your friend mentioned a specific dollar amount. The earth is not only for humans. Other animals also has the same right to live and prosper in this world. Human from early days , exploited nature indiscriminately for his own benefits and thereby man species went extinct. It is high time human should realize the importance of conserving biodiversity. Man is a part of global ecosystem and in ecosystem all the animals and plants have a major share. If biodiversity is not maintained properly, whole of the ecosystem will collapse and that will bring disasterous effect on human also. Human have polluted nature in such a way that various new disease are emerging at a high rate. Biodiversity will help us to purify air, clean water and maintain food balance. Our cultural tradition is also intimately associated with biodiversity . We have to understand that our very own survival depends upon the proper maintenance of biodiversity ans sustainable utilization of resources. Australia spent U.S.$92m (AU$122m) annually for saving biodiversity and to recover threatened species.
