What are ecotypes and how do you test for them
Ecotype is a genetically distinct geographic variety such as population or race within a specie. The genetic distinction is achieved due to development of adaptations to certain environmental conditions . e.g earthworm has different ecotypes. EPIGEIC( live in leaf litter), ENDOGEIC ( live and feed on soil), ANECIC( make vertical burrows).
An efficient method for detection of ecotype is to observe the adaptive differentiations in populations is the reciprocal transplant experiment. In this experiment, a genotype is allowed to grow on its home and a foreign environment alongwith a counterpart genotype derived from the foreign environment .

How do you know if a hypothesis test is testing the claim between 2 population proportions or 2 means? How is the test statistic for a claim about 2 population means, independent samples, standard deviations unknown, similar to the test statistic for 1 population mean, standard deviation unknown? If the difference between the 2 population means is not significant, which means the test statistic falls within the "usual" area of the distribution, what is the decision about the null hypothesis?...
