According to my opinion, sexual harassment can be defined as
unwanted sexual advances. It also includes sexual favors without
other’s consent. Verbal and nonverbal sexual communication is also
part of sexual harassment. It has been observed people in
workplaces offer their subordinates to give credits for their
performances in favor of sexual needs. Women are more often to be
seen as sexually harassed by their male colleagues and bosses.
However, I think any form of unwanted sexual behavior is termed as
sexual harassment.
Yes, I am with the law when it comes to sexual harassment because
legal involvement is the best way to punish those who are engaged
with sexual harassment in the workplace. A victim must ask legal
help from the authority against sexual abuse and harassment. The
government has already proposed several rights against sexual
harassment. The US government considers this act as ‘discrimination
on the basis of sex.’
Yes, I have witnessed sexual harassment in my previous company,
where my immediate boss harassed me with his flirtatious nature. He
indirectly offers to have a sexual relationship with him and always
provide pressure on me. Being a woman, I was feeling a lack of
respect and dignity at that time.
Initially, I could not understand what I should do. Then I asked
for help from my colleagues, and they all stand beside me. We made
a complaint letter to the higher authority against my boss. Also, i
filed official and legal complain to the labor court. The
administrative body has taken immediate actions and expelled my
boss because of his sexual behaviors.
