In the static method, we increase the load on the spring and note it's extension for different loads . The graph is then plotted between weights of load and extension in each case . The slope of the graph thus obtained gives us the value of spring constant under certain experimental errors .

The graph looks like :

Force slope =k (spring (weight) Constant) displacement
