Does James account for common sense qualify him to be called a pragmatist?
Or do you think William James should or should not be called a pragmatist?(The same question as above, it's just worded differently)
Thank you.
According to me, William James
should be called
a pragmatist.
Pragmatism is an ideology based on the view that
any proposition is right if it acts are satisfactory.
It is an approach which judge the truth of any philosophy or ideology on the basis of its outcomes. It means if it's are positive then it's proposition is to be accepted and morally it's right and if it's outcomes are negative then it's proposition is to be rejected and morally it's wrong.
It's basically a philosophical movement which have some beliefs
which are :-
Truth can be altered, human views are necessary for academic
investigation, truth is not complete, the meaning and act are
interrelated and the things to be examined whether they encourage
flexibility and uniformity.
As per William James, truth could be determined on the basis of its influence on human behavior, that's why religious belief of any person can be justified if it makes a positive difference in some ones life.

Why does James Rachels think that cultural relativism is not consistent with the common-sense, moral intuition that our society is making moral progress (in the long run, anyway)?

She found a 1 percent duplication rate on 21,000 registrations last month. She found that this rate is acceptable. You interpret the finding differently. Explain your interpretation and assess what the next steps should be. Please do not copy and paste somebody else's answer....

for last 2 part 8. Balance of questions makes logical sense but does not always have a strong impact on the results. Its im- pact is increased by the strength of a counter argument. A study reported by Schuman and Presser1 compared the following two forms; Q1: If there is a serious fuel shortage this winter, do you think there should be a law requiring people to lower the heat in their homes? Q2: If there is a serious fuel...
A psychology discussion: Do you think texting, emailing, or posting personal information online increases your sense of belonging according to Maslow's hierarchy of needs, or does this leave you feeling more isolated? Have you reached what Maslow called "self-actualization" ?

consider the steps in the accounting cycle. In what order do you think the financial statements should be produced? Does it make more sense to produce the statements in which the closing entries are completed after the income statement? Why or why not?
