PART A: Ba(NO3)2 (aq) + K2CO3(aq) --------- BaCO3(s) + KNO3(aq)

When Barium Nitrate and Potassium Carbonate are mixed, potassium carbonate reacts with barium chloride to form insoluble salt that is barium carbonate and potassium forms the soluble nitrate salt.

Thus the name of the precipitate is Barium Carbonate.

PART B:

a) Na2S (aq) + KCl (aq) --------- No reaction

b) Li2S (aq) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq) ---------- PbS (s) + 2LiNO3 (aq)

Black ppt of Lead Sulfide is formed.

c) Pb(ClO3)2 (aq) + NaNO3 (aq) ----------- No Sulfide compound is expected

d) AgNO3(aq) + KCl(aq) ------------ No sulfide compound is expected

e) 4K2S (aq) + 2Sn(NO3)4 (aq) ---------- 2SnS2 (s) + 8KNO3 (aq)

The AgCl formed in d is white. Both b and e can lead to the sulfide compounds. In the reaction b and d, the Li and K are the alkali metal it's sulfide gets hydrolyse in the water.

Li2S/K2S (aq) + H2O (aq) --------- LiOH/KOH (aq) + H2S (g) and this H2S reacts with the Pb^2+ or Sn^2+ to give PbS and SnS2 respectively. Color of SnS2 is yellow, so only PbS i.e. reaction b is the answer.

PART C:

sodium chloride and silver nitrate reaction:

NaCl ( aq) + AgNO3 (aq) -------- AgCl (s) + NaNO3 (aq)

PART D:

in this case only the precipitates that are formed is insoluble, which is the second reaction, i.e.,

AX(aq) + BZ (aq) -------- AZ(s)(ppt) + BX(aq)

Whereas, in the reaction 1,

AX (aq) + BY(aq) -------- AY(aq)+ BX(aq). (No precipitate)

the BX is formed which is not is a ppt, so only AZ should be a precipitate which is insoluble.
