Answer #1

Answer: E is the answer.

Green and yellow plants gives yellow in F1. This suggests that yellow trait is dominant over green trait.

Let Y allele encodes yellow and it is dominant over y allele. y alleme in homozygous recessive conditions produce green color.

Parents: Yellow (YY) × green (yy)

F1: Yy yellow

When F1 are self crossed;

Parents: Yy × Yy

Punent square:

Gametes Y y
Y YY (yellow) Yy ( yellow)
y Yy ( yellow) yy ( green)

That's why 3/4 are yellow. And 1/4 are green.

Answer 2) Answer is b is the right answer.

As discussed above that Yell plant which are heterozygous in nature give 3 (yellow) : 1( green) phenotypic ratio.

Answer 3)

c is the answer.

Green (yy) × Yellow (YY/ Yy)

Here the Y allele is present in yellow plant. When this allele bearing gamete fuses with y allele, then yellow phenotype is also found in progeny.

    Question 7 1 pts In his pea experiments, Mendel hypothesized that yellow and green color alleles segregate from each other during meiosis and then combine randomly during fertilization. To test this hypothesis, you cross heterozygous pea plants (CCYX CYCY) and in the progeny, determine the phenotype for 740 peas. In peas, yellow is dominant to green. How many progeny would you expect to be yellow? (Enter a whole number only. Do not include spaces or punctuation). Question 8 1 pts...
