As we know that the chemical property of any element is dependent on its electron distribution around the nucleus of the atom, more specially on the valence electrons of that atom. It happens so because the valence electrons are involved in a chemical reaction.

Also, it it very well known that the elements in the periodic table are arranged in the increasing order of their atomic weight in such a manner that they have similar properties in a column.

Out of the given options, Ca and Sr lies in the same column and so they have greatest similarities in their physical and chemical properties.

Although the H and Li also belongs to the same column but they are not too much similar because H is a gas while Li is a solid metal.

Hence, the correct option is (a).
