Answer asap please. Question 2 Suppose that the genders of the three children of a certain family are soon to be revealed. Outcomes are thus triples of "girls" (g) and "boys" (b), which we write gbg, bbb, etc. For each outcome, let R be the random variable counting the number of girls in each outcome. For example, if the outcome is ggg, then R(988) = 3. Suppose that the random variable X is defined in terms of R as follows:...

ial Expériments and Binomial Distributions A binomial experiment is a probability experiment with a number of repeated trials and the following properties: . Each trial has two outcomes. . The outcomes of each trial are independent of other trials. . The probability of each specific outcome is uniform across tr Example 1: We roll a standard 6-sided die three times. Each time we roll the die, we record whether the die landed on a number less than 5, or not....

Problem 4 Let X be a discrete random variable with probability mass function fx(x), and let t be a function. Define Y = t(X): that is, Y is the randon variable obtained by applying the function t to the value of X Transforming a random variable in this way is frequently done in statistics. In what follows, let R(X) denote the possible values of X and let R(Y) denote the possible values of To compute E[Y], we could irst find...
