I am doing an experiment on fluidization. The fluid used for the experiment is gas (air). I need to know the viscosity to do some calculations. However, when I search the internet, it seems that I have found different values. May I know what is the common value use for the air at room temperature viscosity?

Answer #1

When we talk about room temperature, It leads to two possibilities: climate control for human comfort and science & industries.

For human comfort, it varies from 150C to 25oC. In science calculations and industries, it does not have a definite value for room temperature actually. Consequently, Room temperature varies from 20oC to 25oC. But 20oC or 300 K is used widely for mathematical convenience. Sometimes, 25oC is also used in many engineering books.

Now, the values of dynamic viscosity of air at 20oC and 25oC are 18.25д Ра.s and 13:5μPa.s 1.S respectively.

I am doing a lab on the determination of the equilibrium constant for the formation of Fe(SCN)+2. We used a spectrometer to measure the absorption of solutions with a varying initial concentration of Fe+3, but constant concentrations of SCN-. The reaction equation of Fe+3 + SCN- —> Fe(SCN)+2. Along with the SCN- and Fe+3 stock solutions, we also combined them with .3 M HNO3. We then calculated an average molar absorptivity and the equilibrium concentration of Fe(SCN)+2. From that concentration...
