Question

Group 2

How would these two gels compare? The top one is the experimental results and the bottom one is the expected results. I'm not really sure what information I'm supposed to be getting from these.

Answer #1

this is the DNA gel electrophoresis experiment that tells about size of DNA fragment and its molecular weight.

in first three lane we can see presence of DNA band how ever in lane 3, intensity is very low.

in lane 5 there is DNA band

upto now the result obtained through experiment is as expected as shown in Gel no.2.

but in the lane 6 there is extra DNA band which is not present in the Gel no.2.

so this can be specific gene analysed which is present in the bacteria. the gene is also present in the lane 6 which are absent in Gel no. 2.

I and Jane found evidence for two types of charge. They called them "Top" and "Bottom" and made a table to indicate how a Top charge would interact with a Bottom charge, how a Top would interact with another Top charge, and how a Bottom charge would interact with another Bottom charge. They tried to determine experiments that would give evidence of a third type of charge. They tried to think about how a third type of charge would interact...

The gels diagrammed below show the results of amplifying two VNTR loci from: 2 hairs found at a crime scene (hair 1 and hair 2), a crime victim, and possible suspects. Determine whom hair 2 could have belonged to based on the results in the gel below. If the hair could belong to more than one individual, then choose all of the possibilities. If the hair could not belong to any of these, choose

16.5. It was noted in Experimental Details that it is possible to measure a by measuring the transmission of two different samples of different thicknesses that have identical reflectivities. Describe the experimental setup you would use to carry out the measurements, what you would measure, and how you would extract a from the results you obtain. Why is it important that the two samples have the same reflectivity? 16.5. It was noted in Experimental Details that it is possible to...
