Answer #1

The 3 kinds of cell division are

1) mitosis

2)meiosis

3) binary fission

The first division mitosis is called as equational division.

Because in this division there is equal sharing of chromosomes between the 2 daughter cells.

The division results in 2 daughter cells.

It generally takes place in somatic cells of the organism.

It is the division in which one cell with diploid number of chromosomes divides into 2 identical cells with same diploid number of chromosomes.

It's function is to replace the worn out cells, and for the growth of the cells .

It has 4 phases prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase.

The second division is meiosis.

This is also called reductional division .

In this division there is reduction of chromosomes at the stage of anaphase 1.

It results in 4 daughter cells With haploid set of chromosomes.

It involves the fusion of the 2 gametes with the haploid set of chromosomes resulting into a zygote( considered as the parent cell in meiosis) with diploid set of chromosomes. Now this zygote undergoes reductional division at 1 st anaphase stage and gives rise to 2 daughter cells with haploid set of chromosomes. Again each one of the 2 daughter cells undergo duplication at 2 nd anaphase stage to divide into 4 daughter cells ,each one with haploid set of chromosomes. Finally there are 4 daughter cells at the end of meiosis.

And each daughter cell has haploid set of chromosomes.

This division generally takes place in the production of gametes in sexually reproducing organisms .

It has 2 divisions ,one is meiosis 1,and the other is meiosis 2 which is also called mitosis.

Meiosis 1 is reductional division.

And meiosis 2 is equational division.

The 3 rd division is binary fission.

Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction which takes place in prokaryotes and some singled cell eukaryotes which belong to the kingdom protista like euglena, amoeba, paramecium.

In this binary fission the parent cell completely splits or divides Into 2 daughter cells, where each daughter cell recieves one copy of the DNA.

First the division of nucleic acid takes place later it is followed by the division of cytoplasm.

It results in 2 identical daughter cells.

Moreover mitochondria is also replicated by binary fission.

Finally we can say that both mitosis, binary fission are types of asexual reproduction where one cell divides into 2 identical daughter cells .

The other meiosis division is a type of sexual reproduction where it produces 4 daughter cells each with half the chromosomes of the parent cell.
