1. Meiosis I and meiosis II

Meiosis results in the formation of 4 haploid daughter cells. synapsis (zygotene) crossing over(pachytene) takes place during prophase I of meiosis I . At the end of telophase I 2 haploid daughter nuclei are formed. Then these 2 daughter nuclei undergo meiosis II ( similar to mitosis) results the formation of 4 haploid cells.

2. Homologous chromosomes(bivalent) - these are similar chromosomes ,one divided rom each parent are attracted towards each other and they pair along their entire length.The pairing of homologous chromosomes are called synapsis. Ecah pair of homologous chromosomes are said to be bivalent. The number of bivalent equal to the half of diploid number of chromosomes .the pairing starts either from the centromeal region or from the terminal region .as a result of synapsis each gene is brought in to closer contact with its allele located on the homologous chromosomes . two homologous chromosomes are brought together by characteristics ladder like structure called synaptonemal complex.

3. Hypotonic

as a result cells are in swollen condition . water enters into the cells .because more waterconcentration is present outside the cell.
