Compare and contrast the pathways of auditory and visual processing by creating a schematic diagram (either drawn out by hand or created using PowerPoint or other software). This can be in a simple box-and-arrow format. Start at the hair cells in the auditory system, and the retina in the visual system (you can be general here, no need to go through the details of photoreceptor/bipolar cell/ganglion cell stuff) and work your way up to the primary sensory cortex for each modality (A1 and V1). Be sure to describe how these pathways are similar and different, both in terms of the anatomical locations and how they preserve the sensory information throughout the pathways.
anatomical similarity is that in visual pathways, optic tract is converted into optic radiations then into visual cortex.
In auditary pathways.. lateral lemniscus converted into medial geniculate body ti audiatry radiation and then into auditory cortex.
Physiological similarity - In visual pathway receptor is bipolar cells and ganglionic cell signals from the goes to visual cortex through optic radiation ,here the signals ate interpreted.
In auditory pathways receptors are inner and outer hair cells signals from these goes to auditory cortex through auditory radiations, and here signals are interpreted
