Answer #1

Elderly clients are most commonly seen to be depressed from an empty nest syndrome. As a result of this process, it can be seen that they experience depressive symptoms that can eventually lead to psychosis .Hence regular monitoring and ensuring a scheduled activity for these individuals can can aid in the process of increasing mental fuction and keeping them occupied. Counselling and psychotherapy helps to reduce the incidence of risk for suicide and group therapy is effective in a fraction of the cases. However, non competetive chores can be given in pairs and self care must be encouraged. Physical status and food intake can be maintained by providing adequate time and positively reinforceing the client .Moreover, acknowledge the clients to make him or her aware that their efforts have been noticed.
