When I would be started my own business then the first thing that I would ensure that ideas can flow in freely so that innovation can take place and a certain amount of stability can be provided to the business and hence I would be having and propagating a flat organisational structure wherein there would be less hierarchy and more of openness such as an open door policy. This would probably help in stabilizing things and increase the business initially. The structure would be such that people feel free to discuss and everybody is given equal importance so that they feel respected and give their 100% in their job. Elements and determinants of organisational culture would come into play when the business starts growing and some considerable amount of time is spent by the company in the business. I would then ensure that there are a proper hierarchical structure and various departments in the company. Each department would be dedicated for each particular work and teams would be in place. Each team would have an executive, assistant manager, manager, senior manager, assistant vice president etc. and hence things and the entire processes including the assembly lines would be streamlined and working together to achieve a particular result which is the final objective of the company. So, yes definitely there would be a difference in the way I would run my business initially and the way in which I would prefer running it when it matures a bit and because of this, there is a difference between organisational structure because the needs become different.
