I need help calculating total percent recovery. I have to get the percent recovery for the two compounds I separated during an organic base and neutral compound extraction experiment. The lab started with 0.6 g of a 1:1 mixture (by mass) of 1,4-dichlorobenzene/ethyl 4-aminobenzoate.
My two compounds are 1) 1,4-dichlorobenzene in 95% ethanol and 2) ethyl 4-aminobenzoate in hot 95% ethanol.
These are my results:
1,4-dichlorobenzene recovered 0.329 g
ethyl 4-aminobenzoate recovered 0.271 g
Please show all work on how to find the percent recovery of each compound.

You will apply what you have learned earlier in the semester when performing the Acid-Base Extraction experiment to perform a different separation: that of an organic neutral compound and organic base. You will also need to purify and characterize these compounds. You will have one lab period to execute your plan for separating the assigned mixture given below. There will be a 1:1 (by mass) mixture placed in the lab: 1,4-dichlorobenzene/ethyl 4-aminobenzoate. You will take approximately 1 g of your...
Explain the acid/base chemistry that occurred when you separated the organic base and neutral compound. Include chemical equations. The two compounds used were 1,4-dichlorobenzene and ethyl 4-aminobenzoate.

I have a mixture of three compounds and I want to separate them. The compounds are ethyl aminobenzoate (50%), benzoin (40%), and 1,4-dibromobenzene(10%). I started the experiment by dissolving the mixture in the methylene chloride, then I added HCl, so I got two layers, first one is aqueous layer that contain ethyl aminobenzoate, and the second one is organic layer that contain benzoin and 1,4-dibromobenzene. After that I add NaOH to aqueous layer and I got a solid, then I...
how to get %recovery? here recovered benzoic acid is 0.14 g. Part 1 - ExtracHon of an Acidic Organic Compound 1. Secure a small, clean separatory funnel to a ring stand with a clamp. 2. Label three small flask (25 or 50 mL) with one of the following: "benzoic acid", "ethyl-4- aminobenzoate" and "organic layer". 3. Obtain exactly 10.0 mL of a solution containing benzoic acid and ethyl-4-aminobenzonate in ethyl acetate. 4. Extract the solution containing the two compounds with...
In my liquid-liquid extraction experiment, I have to explain where the "rest" of my product is. we were given 1.000 gram to start with of one acid and one neutral compound and separated using the liquid liquid extraction. First we added NaOH into the flask and shook it and observe the separation of the two layers. Then I drained them into separate beakers and added HCL to the aqueous layer containing the acidic component and I evaporated the solvent off...
separation of a three-component mixture by extraction, lab report help, the compounds are benzoic acid ,9-fluorene , and ethyl-4- aminobenzoate. I need help to write Discussion about this lab report and I dont know what should I write.I got 25% recovary for benzoic acid ,32% for ethyl-4- aminobenzoate and 50 % recovary for 9-fluorene.( by the way I lost some product of benzoic acid). please help me full paper as you could for discussion and what is the source of...
im not sure if im doing these correctly, but if i could get help would them that would be extremely helpful. thank you HN c. Write a balanced reaction using HCl that makes ethyl aminobenzoate into a water-soluble salt. For your products, show STRUCTURES and appropriate formal charges. (1 pts) Rön + H-C: a NO a 23. a. Mass of isolated Benzoic Acid b. Draw the structure of Benzoic Acid (pt) c. Write a balanced reaction using NaOH that makes...
1.) What percent recovery could be expected if 1.000 g of caffeine was initially dissolved in 120 mL of water and then extracted with a single 80 mL portion of ethyl acetate? 2.) What percent recovery could be expected if 1.000 g of caffeine was initially dissolved in 120 mL of water and then extracted as per the protocol given in the lab manual? 3.) Percent recovery and percent yield are occasionally used as if they are interchangeable terms. They...
I need help with calculating the percent yield of an experiment. 1.0 g of p-aminobenzoic acid (MW=137.14 g/mol) was mixed with 10.0 mL of absolute ethanol (MW=46.07 g/mol) and after solid dissoved 1.0 mL of conc. sulfuric acid was added (MW=98.07 g/mol). The crude product of benzocaine (MW=165.19 g/mol) weighed 2.289 grams. What is the theoretical yield? What is the percent yield?
