as the moon and sun subtend same angle

rM/distance between moon = rS/distance between sun

1738/distance between moon = 696000/1 AU

solving for distance between moon

distance between moon = 2.497 *10^-3 AU

the distance to moon is 2.497 *10^-3 AU
