Question

24. Many creationists will allow that microevolution (for example, changing gene frequencies in a population) has occurred, and will even acknowledge that species adapt to different environments. However, they deny that macroevolution (they define it as the evolution of new kinds) is supported by evidence. Explain how they are mistaken. How might you help your creationist friend better grasp how modern scientists consider micro- versus macroevolution? (4 points)

Answer #1

-Micro evolution is on smaller scale and occurs withina particular species. It will change the gene frequencies in the population over the time.

-Macroevolution occurs on large scale. It includes the change such as the evolutionof new species and evolution of ancestor species to a new species.

Scientists of now-a-days give equal importance to both micro and macro evolution.Because both of them cause a change in the given population. Only the time of evidence varies in between micro and macroevolution. But at last both leaves there mark over the variation in the population.

Evidence for macroevolution includes speciation and extiction of organisms.
