You are working in a clinical hematology laboratory. A 72 old man came to you for rex blood cell counting test. You used the hemocytometer to count his red blood cells. You added 10 ult of the whole blood to 1990ul of normal Saline and uploaded 10 ul of the diluted blood to hemocytometer. You counted 350 cells per 5 squares .

In five squares there are 350 rbcs

Total cells =350×5(as there are 25 larger squares in total)

=1750 per 1square mm (as the area of the larger square is 1sq mm/1750 per 0.1ul

So in 10ul of blood the no.of red blood cells will be =175000 rbcs
