2. Describe and define international HRM; PCN; HCN; and TCN.

Answer 1

(i)Parent Country National(PCN): This is when the company of the country effectively recruits the employee from the country they belong to and the country in this case is called parent company. For example when Japanese international company recruits the employees from Japan.

Host country national : This is when the company of the country usually runs the essential business in the country which is not its own; another one and the employees are recruited essentially from the country. This is known as HCN. The second country in this case is known as the host country.

For example when the Japanese company runs the business in America and recruits the American citizens.

Third Country National(TCN): This is when the citizens of one nation are employed by the other company which belongs to the other country and the ones who worked in the third country. Example will be when the Japanese firm recruits American employee for their branch in the UK.

IHRM is related to the management of human resources at the multinational companies with involvement of management of three types of employees. This includes the home country employees who belong to firm's home country where there is the main corporate head quarter.

Another one is host country employees who are linked to the nation where the subsidiary comes from. The third country employees includes the employees who are employed at the subsidiary or corporate headquarters and not from the home country
