General vegetation characteristics found in tundra biome is that tundra vegetation is composed of dwarf shrubs and grasses. In some of the tundra region scattered trees are found. The ecological boundary region between the tundra and the forest is known as the tree line or timber line.
In actual, tree growth in tundra is hindered by low temperatures and short growing seasons. There are 3 types of tundra namely arctic, antarctic and alpine tundra. Trees grows only in some of tundra while the dominant vegetation is grasses, mosses and lichens.
