Answer #1

1) a) the reaction will be

2Cu(s) + S --> Cu2S

b) When one mole of copper reacts with with half mole fo sulphur we obtain one mole of copper sulphide

Atomic weight of copper = 63.5 grams

Mol weight of copper sulphide = 159 grams

so, 63.5 grams will give 159 grams of copper sulphide

So 0.65 grams will give 159 X 0.65 / 63.5 = 1.62 grams of copper sulphide

c) The mass of sulphur in 159 grams of copper sulphide is 63.5 grams

so mass of sulphur in 1.62 grams = 0.646 grams of sulphur
