The idea that one can remain relatively 'anonymous' on the internet if they so choose, for many, is one of the sacred concepts of the online world. However, regarding crime and deviance, such anonymity raises certain concerns.

How does anonymity and physical distance from one's victims contribute to criminal and deviant behavior on the internet? Have you ever had someone treat you in a manner online in which you do not think they would have in person? If so, discuss. Which theory of criminal and/or deviant behavior do you feel best explains crime and deviance on the internet?

Answer = Anonymity and physical distance from one's victim contribute to criminal and deviant behaviour on the internet because when someone make it's fake Id and using it for communicating on social websites and then misuse it.

There are different social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram etc where a criminal can easily do misbehaviour to anyone.Using someone's original name as a fake ID in the sites can lead to criminal act if he will post some awful pictures and videos ,then the person's identity will affect so badly.

Yes,I have faced a situation in my life where someone's treated me in a bad manner online when I was in 10th standard I was not much more familiar about these social networking sites . So one day I was chatting with a guy he is using fake Id and he asked me to exchange my number and I gave to him. Then he misused it and calling me frequently I got so disturbed by this.

There can be different theory of criminal on the internet some of them are as follow-

Hacking

Defamation

Bullying

Cyber fraud

Phishing etc
