Why do influenza always begin in Asia? Which flue
strains have caused major Pandemics? 2. How do Scientists determine
which strains will be incorporated into annual vaccine? 3.Why are
parasite infection to difficult to fight? Why is Schistosomiasis
such a difficult disease to conquer? 4.What triggers the start of
an autoimmune disease like Multiple Sclerosis? 5.What is the future
for treatment of AIDS? 6.What is the role of CDC and WHO in the
treatment of Epidemics?
***********PLEASE ANSWER ALL QUESTION (1-6)***********
Influenza mostly begin from Asia, specifically south east Asia as this area is densely populated, have poor hygeine control, filled with ducks, hen, cows as cattle or poultry ,thus human comes in close contact with the avians & animals which make them susceptible to infections. Wild birds, bats & animals move around the cities & villages & they serve as reservoires for influenza virus.
The asian flu pandemic (1957-58) H2N2, Hong kong flu (1968-68) H3N2, Spanish flu H1N1, Swine flu novel H1N1, Bird flu H5N1
2) The viriologic survelliance data is the body of scientist , they held meeting on february for northern hemisphere on the anticipation of most likely occuring flu from a specific strain of virus, same happens for souther hemisphere during september.Specific strains attack in specific weathers , those strains which are most likely to attack are incorporated to provise resistance.
3) Parasites wake up dormant viruses & they make a favourable atmosphere for the replication of viruses & greatly threaten the immunological responses.
Firstly Schistomatosis is a parasite disease, the pathology is almost hidden so it is greatly difficult to diagnose. The symptoms can be of varying degrees & seem unrelated.
4) Any spcific or immediate reason is not known but their are speculations like
immunological malfunctioning ( might be of memory cells)
genetic susceptibilty towards certain environment ( though rare, heredity anticipation is recorded)
Environmental (lack of vitamin D, countries away from equator is more prone to this disease)
Infections ( measels, HHV6, EBV)
5) gene therapy ( knock out HIV)
devolopment of PrEP & PEP
devolopment of antoretroviral therapy
6) CDC
disease control & prevention in epidemic areas
yellow book for travel health guidelines
campaigns targeting the prevention og influenza, small pox, measels, ebola etc
WHO
prevent severe disease
prevent still birth
research on clinical management
health aid for epidemic regions
providing guidelines for clinical management etc
