13. How many different types of gametes can plant A and plant B produce? All formulae and calculation must be shown to receive full points. (3 pts)

Answer 1

Any plant produces it's gamete in formula of 2ⁿ, where n is no of heterozygous genes.

For example, Supose a plant of genotype Aa will produce

2¹= 2 gametes i.e. A and a.

Similarly, plant of genotype AaBb will produce

2²= 4 gametes i.e. AB, Ab, aB Nd ab.

So for calculating no of types of gamet, just use heterozygous no of genes of calculation.
