1. Mobile Source of Pollution- Air pollution from mobile sources includes any air pollution emitted by motor vehicles, aircraft, locomotives and other engines and equipment that can be moved from one location to another. Many of these pollutants contribute to the degradation of the environment and have negative health effects. To avoid unnecessary harm to human health and the environment, environmental regulatory agencies like the U.S. The Environmental Protection Agency has put in place policies to minimize mobile air pollution. At the state level, there are similar agencies.

Carbon monoxide: carbon monoxide is formed when carbon in fuel (incomplete combustion) does not burn completely. Vehicle emissions are the primary source of carbon monoxide in soil. According to reports by the EPA, as much as 95% of the carbon monoxide in modern U.S. cities comes from mobile sources. Carbon monoxide is harmful as it reduces the supply of oxygen to the organs and tissues of the body. It is most harmful to people with heart and respiratory disease. Carbon dioxide: one of the most common greenhouse gasses released by motor vehicles is carbon dioxide. 23.6% of the total U.S. greenhouse gasses inventory was derived from motor vehicles in 2006.

Nitrogen oxides: when fuel burns at high temperatures, like in motor vehicle engines, nitrogen oxides are formed. Mobile sources account for more than half of all U.S. emissions of nitrogen oxide. Mobile sources on-road and non-road are major polluters of nitrogen oxide. These issues include smog and ozone. Hydrocarbons: Hydrocarbons are a precursor to ozone at ground level, a major air pollutant in cities across the U.S. Reactions involving hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides in the presence of sunlight are a key component of smog, ground-level ozone. Emissions of hydrocarbons are the result of incomplete combustion of oil and gas evaporation.

2. In the area of waste management, extended producer responsibility (EPR) is a strategy to add to that product's market price all the environmental costs associated with a product throughout the product life cycle. Extended legislation on producer responsibility is a driving force behind the adoption of remanufacturing initiatives because it focuses on end-of-use treatment of consumer products and has the primary objective of increasing the quantity and degree of product recovery and minimizing the environmental impact of waste materials

3. The current system of mobility, driven by vehicles powered by fossil fuel, is under increasing pressure due to its impact on the environment. To address this issue, a transition of the system to one that is more sustainable is needed, including the introduction of automotive technologies that allow fuel consumption to decrease and the substitution of fossil fuels as a primary source of energy. It is expected that the existing companies and their operations will play a crucial role in the transformation due to the stability of the current automotive industry and the hegemony of the internal combustion engine technology.

4. The choice of personal transportation has an enormous impact on air quality. The impact on the environment is what we do and how we drive. More than half of all carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions are generated by motor vehicles in Minnesota. Such contaminants can lead to respiratory and heart problems along with an increased risk of cancer, including microscopic particles. There are many ways you can reduce your impact, from walking to work to carpooling. Discover your style of transportation. Since most emissions from cars and trucks is caused by fuel burning, by burning less oil, burning fuel cleaner, and consuming healthier gas, you can reduce pollution from these sources.
