Given that,

Population standard deviation = s = 5

Margin of error = E = 1

Z\alpha/2 = 1.96

sample size = n = [Z\alpha/2* s / E] 2

n = [1.96 * 5 / 1]2

n = 96.04

Sample size = n = 97

t\alpha /2,df = 1.753

Margin of error = E = t\alpha/2,df * (s /\sqrtn)

= 1.753 * (23.4 / \sqrt 16)

Margin of error = E = 10.255
