Explain, at a molecular level, why some traits display X-linked inheritance while others display sex-influenced inheritance.

In X-linked inheritance, genes present on the X-chromosome while in sex influenced inheritance, the gene is autosomal.

Human being normally have 22 pair of autosomal (44 autosomes) and 2 sex chromosomes either XX(females) or XY(males). Genes on the X-chromosome can be either recessive or dominant.
