Answer #1

5 and 2 uF are in parallel

C1 = 5 + 2 = 7 uF

9 and 2 uF are in parallel

C2 = 9 + 2 = 11 uF

C1 and C2 are in series

C(equi) = C1C2 / (C1 + C2)

= 7*11 / ( 7 + 11)

= 4.28 uF

so the equivalent capacitance is 4.28 uF
