Answer #1

How can a rise in temperature affect the production of food crops?

Answer- Increase in global temperature is having an adverse effect on food crop.

  • With increase in temperature the rate of Photosynthesis is decreasing.
  • Increase in temperature acts as a stress and this will decrease the production of food.

According to Ortiz et al., (2008) about 3-40C can cause crop yield to drop by 15-35% in Asia and Africa, while reduction of 25-35% can be observed in Middle East (Bita and Gerats, 2013).

Since increase in temperature also effects enzyme activity, if temperature is too high, they will denature.

So increase in temperature will decrease the photosynthesis rate.

Please give thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!! thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!
