Venturi meter provided in a vertical pipeline carries oil of specific gravity 0.88 as shown in the Figure below. The diameter at the entrance and throat are 30 cm and 15 cm, respectively. A U-tube manometer filled with mercury of density 13600kg/m3 is connected to the entrance and throat of the meter . The height difference between the throat and entrance is 30cm. if the actual flow rate is 80 L/s and the coefficient of discharge of the meter is 0.96. Calculate:
a) The pressure difference between the entrance and throat.
b) The height, h, of the mercury levels in the manometer, where liquid fills the tube above the mercuru.
