Initially when the ball is thrown up it has some velocity. And due to this velocity the ball has some initial kinetic energy. Initially the ball is at the ground therefore it has 0 potential energy.

Now when the ball reaches its maximum height the speed of the ball becomes 0 and hence kinetic energy becomes 0 but since now the ball is at it's maximum height therefore now it has potential energy.

Therefore the whole kinetic energy got converted into potential energy.

Therefore answer is kinetic to potential
