In my opinion, the side which has logical justifications and scientific approach and methodology to resolve the IT issue at hand is correct. It is important to deeply understand the issue and think logically to resolve it, rather than thnking superficially and arguing on baseless points. A person needs to do an in depth analysis and deep study of the IT issue in order to arrive at solution and issue resolution mechanism. The use of latest IT technology can also be adopted to optimize the solution and get it implemented in a proper manner. However the use of metrics to assess information technology planning is not recommended since metrics have a predefined working approach and clear step by step mechanism which can either work in a particular planning approach or not. It is more important to devise a customized approach to assess information technology planning rather than working on a metrics approach which does not provide flexibility to think and adopt a better and fitting mechanism.
