Congenital heart defects are those which is present at the time of birth. When this heart defects occurs, there will be change on the hemodynamic flow. Any abnormal holes present which leads to VSD,ASD, etc, then ,the blood travel abnormally through the heart.for instance, blood flows acorss the holes in the walls that separte the two sides of the heart. This means that shunting of the blood occurs. So, the pattrn of blood flow gets changes and these needs to aware by anurse. So, they should check theoxygen saturation with the help of pulse oximetry and should do a good physical examination to identify the defects .

These are he things that a nurse should include in her teaching.
