Answer #1

The main aspect of community-based corrections is that these are mainly focused to facilitate the correctional supervision and services in the setup within the community to replace the prison or jail. With the help of pretrial services, some type of supervision can be facilitated to the accused before the disposition o the different types of criminally charged against them so that it can be ensured that all the court appearances and different conditions imposed by the law and court are satisfied.

The main objective of these initiatives is to facilitate the services and interventions that can help in reintegration of the criminals in the form os law following individuals and become the part of the community by making sure that rehabilitation of these individuals is done and proper monitoring and acceptance by the local community can be facilitated.

Example= The typical example of community-based correction can be seen as when the offender of the crime is given the opportunity to get involved with the community and he is provided the chance to participate in the various community activities by being the part of the community but at the same time the probation officer keeps a close eye on his activities.

Cons of probation=.

The offender can be part of the community

The offender can earn money to support himself and his family

The offender can become a socially responsible individual

The cost of probation is less than imprisoning someone

Cons of probation =

This can result in the absence of punishment for the crime done by the person

The community may be at increased risk of crime committed by the person once again

This will have increased social cost

There will be lesser legal protections facilitated to the person with probation than the person who is accused of the crime.

role of a probation officer= role of a probation officer is quite important in the justice system. He acts as the main element for the reformation of the accused or criminal. He also helps the offender to repent on his crime and rehabilitate the person into a law-abiding social individual
