Answer #1

Answer:- The descending limb of the loop of henle is permeable to water . So as the filtrate passes through the descending limb of loop of henle , the concentration of the filtrate increases as water releases out of the the renal tubule into the medulla . The ascending limb of the loop of henle is permeable to solute and impermeable to solvent.

The ascending limb of loop of henle actively transport sodium ions and increases osmolarity of medullary fluid . The urea that is present in the filtrate go into the medullary interstitium to increase the osmolarity of the interstitium to around 1200mosmol litres-1. The structure of the loop of henle is well explained in the diagram.

Hence , option 5 is the correct answer.
