Answer #1

DHL Ghana is called to find out how DHL improves and implements competitive advantage techniques.

DHL SWOT analysis shows the firm's solid and diverse network, creative capacity to cope with change and brand value as well as its good financial position in Ghana. The firm invests in workers and develops a well established IT infrastructure for their skills growth. Even DHL uses diversity to inspire staff and to give the world a positive image.

The company's weaknesses show that businesses don't aggressive advertise to beat rivals, rely on private logistics agencies and limited growth as a result of intense competition. Failures in good waste management practices, lack of consumer awareness, inadequate decision-making by DHL, weak customer support, and negative viral marketing show that DHL must build the strategic capacity to minimize these faults.

Opportunities mean that DHL needs to make the supply chain customer oriented and to meet potential customers more affected.

Challenges include increased competition, economic recession and local courier services challenges.DHL's review indicates that it does not have an adequate framework for strategic initiatives. It fails to publicize its successes and to boost its brand identity. It undermines the attempts to enhance customer support. Employee skills growth and promotion of diversity should be conveyed in order to enhance both the brand and competitors' imagery. Further budgets for advertisements and promotional campaigns are being invested to respond to negative viral marketing and boost the reputation of the brand.

For example, failure to handle DHL 's waste is a reputative risk because it demonstrates that the business is not responsible for reducing environmental concerns. External environmental threats arise from regulatory conditions, the economic downturn, shifting consumer demand due to repute risk faced by a business etc. The DHL Group therefore will introduce strategic measures to strengthen the management of waste and the conservation of the environment. DHL Group shall adopt environmental and sustainable measures.

Strategies for handling bad customer service and improving organizational decision-making may require a shift in the company structure and management strategy to handle external changes. Strong action will also allow DHL to take advantage of business opportunities to overcome these weaknesses. These strategic strategies will help DHL achieve its competitive advantages.
