1. Mainly to measure groundwater quality temperature, pH and turbidity parametets are measured.

2. The major pollutants of the water quality are mainly pathogens, inorganic waste , organic waste and small amount of macroscopic agents.

3. Chlorine is added in municipal water by the process of chlorination. The gas of sodium hypochlorite solution is mixed with water and then spread out to form the chlorine in the water and that chlorine kill the germs and pathogens.

4. Characteristics of safe drinking water:

i) less or free from contaminants

ii) should contain some minerals that requires for our body

iii) colourless , odourless and desirable pH

5. Distillation or water softening is recommended for the poor water quality.
