Al-Bakri and Al-Gharnati and Leo Africanus’s admire the sub-Saharan kingdoms of Ghana and Mali.
The sub-Saharan Kingdoms of Ghana and Mali was very power in trade and kingdoms was accumulated with natural resources. The production and prosperity of metals depends on the certain practices of the people. Gold, metals and salt were the main items of long distance trade.
Ghana's economic development and wealth was linked to growth of strong and regular trade. This resulted in larger cities and urban areas . The kingdom was surrounded by so called Vassal states. The kingdom of Gahana eventually failed to capitalize the benefits from trade in long run because of internal socio-economic instabilities, culutral clashes and finally incorporated into the Empire of Mali.
