1) Difference between vertical and horizontal integration of corporate strategies -
i) Although both the strategies are used in the production process, in horizontal integration, a company takes over another company at the same level of the industry whereas, in vertical integration, a company acquires business operations in the same production.
ii) Horizontal integration helps a company to expand its size and diversify its product offerings and also expand into new markets whereas vertical integration helps to boost profit and allow the companies to access to consumers and strengthen the supply chain.
iii) The horizontal strategy is used to control the market and on the other hand, the vertical strategy is used to control the industry.
Horizontal strategy - LOreal took over Maybelline.
Vertical strategy - Verizon and AT&T joined together through acquisition.
Hope this helps :)
