Q2. In my opinion option (e) is the right answer: Editing the gene for a polypeptide component of haemoglobin.

Let's understand this: Sickle cell anaemia is a genetic disorder which is caused to mutation in haemoglobin gene. This causes faulty haemoglobin which precipitates and causes the changes in shape of the RBC (Sickle). The RBC is not viable and is destroyed in circulation as it does not have proper flexibility to pass through narrow blood vessels.

So, Editing the gene will definitely help to solve this problem.

Option B is not possible: The problem starts early during mRNA formation. Other options like dietary supplements will provide temporary or no help at all.
