As we know for electromagnetic waves, the electric field and the associated magnetic field must be perpendicular to each other and both are also perpendicular to direction of propagation of wave.

Now, the direction of propagation of wave is in negative z- direction and electric field is in positive x and y direction. So,The associated magnetic field must be in positive x- direction and negative y- direction so that both must be perpendicular and also perpendicular to negative z- direction.
