The standard enthapy of formation of H2 is taken to be zero.

\DeltaHf(H2) =0

C2H4(g) + H2(g) -------> C2H6(g)

From Hess's law, \Delta Horxn = [ \Delta Hf(C2H6) ] - [ \Delta Hf(H2) + \Delta Hf(C2H4) ]

putting the values which is given in the question

=> \Delta Hrxn = [-84.68] - [0 + 52.4] => \Delta Hrxn = -137.1 KJ

Thus \Delta Horxn = -137.1 KJ
