Answer #1

Ans) The correct answer is "E" i.e unequal sharing of electrons between hydrogen and another atom.

(In hydrogen bonding, the bonding occurs between two electronegative atoms. One is hydrogen donor and another atom acts as a hydrogen acceptor. We know that electronegativity is referred to as the affinity of tendency to attract shared pair of electrons or they are electron loving.

Consider A atom as a hydrogen donor and B atom as a hydrogen acceptor. We know that both the A and B atoms are electronegative. So, the electrons from the hydrogen atom will move towards the electronegative A atom (we have discussed that electronegative means electron loving. So, they will pull electrons towards them) as a result of which the hydrogen will acquire partial positive charge and the Atom A will acquire partial negative charge. The Atom B will have partial negative charge which will now have affinity to attract hydrogen toward itself because the hydrogen now has partial positive charge).
