What does the customer need: LAN, MAN, GAN or a WAN? What type of topology will benefit the customer in long term (bus, token, star, mesh)? . Which cabling media will be used to meet the customer's expectations? • What brands of hardware and software should be chosen? Then determine how many servers, pes, workstations, and licenses that the customers need to support their business. . You are the network administrator assigned to this teams you are being sent to the site of a new business called RoJo Novelty Shop, in Bowie, MD. The business sells novelty t-shirts, lights, furniture, tables, wool rugs, books, cameras and hundreds other novelty gifts to wholesalers and retailers in three states, (NJ, NY, CA). The RoJo business anticipate internet sales, thus the network will need a dedicated email server along with internet connectivity The facility in Bowie has three levels: the first floor is all retail and the second floor is for management, accounting, marketing, human resources and other support staff. The warehouse located in the basement where inventory is received or distributed. There will not be a server in the basement, but the staff will access the internet through the phone system that allow internet connection into the building where the demarcation is outside of basement building. Be mindful of your layout, for there must be stair cases, parking lot and realistic physical security on the premises....think disabilities compliance and work safety.

Answer to above questions are.

1) Client/server is best suited for this client as the will be handling alot of orders from wholesalers and customer, They will require a dedicated server for emails , payments and customer orders

2) WAN is best suited for this client as they will be connected to internet with their wholesalers and customers, Inside of building they have set a up local area networks to work within multiple floors

3) BUS topology is best suited for this client as there are multiple floors each floor can send data over a bus to other floors via a switch or hub. The other alternative is the star topology were a central server will take the request from all users and direct it toward the respective system but cost of wire and wireless network will be huge as the building is of multiple floors and users are many

4) Co-axial cable is best suited for this customer. within the company network will be layed out using co-axial cable which are less prone to noise and cost much less than fibre optics and more reliable than a wireless network

5) Customer will require multiple Switches atleast 3 one for each floor.Atleast 1 Router on each floor as well for connecting to internet. 1-2 Server for taking customer orders and emails, Wire co-axial for connecting the network 600-700meters depends on the floor size . Workstation atleast 80-100 for the entire building.
