Answer #1

Children at concrete operational stage generally uses inductive reasoning or one can say that inductive reasoning is the characteristic feature of this stage, i.e. they justifies things inductively, they move from specific to general. they experience difficulty in taking abstract ideas.

While children at formal operational stage uses hypothetical deductive reasoning i.e. they are now able to justify things deductively, they move from general to specific. They can now take in abstract ideas can reason on this ideas.

In given situation an abstract idea is given which is "all yellow cats have three ears, and i have a yellow cat"

Here Inna is having difficulty in, taking in this abstract idea as she is insisting on that all cats have two ears. Thus using inductive reasoning to explain situation presented. While Marisa is explaining things based upon hypothetical deductive reasoning that is moving from general to specific. She is not experiencing any difficulty in, taking in the idea and applying logic to explain.

Thus by the above argument Inna is at concrete operational stage while Marisa is at formal operational stage.
