ADHD = Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

* It is a developmental disorder characterized by develop mentally inappropriate degree of inattention, over activity and impulsiveness ( without thinking).

It is marked by lack of task performance and easily distruct.

* Councelling to the parents and child - psychological treatment.

* Positive reinforcement ( Behaviour therapy )

Special class room with low student teacher ratio.

* Medications eduction =

Stimulants = Ex. Methylphenidate,Dextroamphetine, Pemolone, Retaline, Stimulant mainly provide for improvement of school performance that why these should be given during school time not at vacation.
* Tics are main complication of stimulant that's why a child with tics or family history of tics should avoid stimulant .

Side effect = Anorexia , headache , sleep disturbances and rapid pulse.

Tricyclinic antidepressants Eg- Imipramine , desipramine .

Side effect - Side effect of imipramine is constipation, dry mouth and urinary problem.

* Alternative therapy =

Dietary restriction = Avoid food with preservative and dies.

Avoid food those have salicylate Example - Apple , Kivi, lichi, Guavea and dry fruits .

Dont use chemical in any form .

Avoid artificial sweetener.

Mega vitamins - Vitamin B3 , B5 , B6 and vitamin C these should be use for child with ADHD.

* Psychological examination = During observation it is nurse responsiblity that child should not be know about that he is under observation. To prevent howthrone effect.
some physical Anamalies present in child with ADHD . These are Epicanthal fold, hypertelorism , low set ears .

Fidget with hand , shifting from incomplete task .

* Potential learning barrier =

Economical barrier- ADHD child teach separately and this one major issue for family some low financial family cannot manage these facilities.

Environmental barrier = Environmental factor loud voices affect also child attention and child have already attention deficit .
Focusing barrier = child cannot focus his attention on teacher lesson and not able to learn new thing this is the major lerning barrier for ADHD child for this say to child listen carefully .

Ask the hard Questions and give a complete picture and teach the child with diagram.

Hyperactive barrier of child = ADHD child always hyperactive so they cannot focus easily so motivate the child and say him to play games and draw pictures and encourage the child excercise and sleep .
