The relation between potential difference and uniform electric field is

∆V= E∆d

Where ∆V- Potential difference

∆d - distance between A and B

Hence,

E = 700 V/m

Here electric field is uniform hence if we draw a straight line crossing the point B and perpendicular to the electric field lines then every point on that line will have equal potential. I.e. we get an equal potential surface.

Hence the diagram can be redrawn and it is,

E = 700 V/m 6.0 cm 10 cm equipotential surface В. 10.0 cm

Hence potential difference ∆V = E ∆d

∆d = 10 cm or 0.1 m

∆V= 700×0.1 = 70 V

Hence first option is correct.
